A new journey starts before character creation. Get your account ready, make room for the client, and give yourself time to explore.
Check your access
Blizzard says beta invitations are sent to selected opt-in players. Eligible digital bundles also include access. Verify eligibility in your own Battle.net account rather than trusting an unexpected download link.
Install through Battle.net
Open World of Warcraft in the updated launcher. In Game Version, choose World of Warcraft: Forever Beta under In Development, then install and select an available test realm.
Make your first session count
Pick one thing to explore: the opening quests, a class you have never played, or the route to your first group. A focused session gives you a clearer impression than racing through every available system.
Write down what surprised you. Keep questions separate from bugs: an unfamiliar mechanic may need an explanation, while a broken interaction needs a reproducible report. Record where you were, what you expected, and what happened.
Before you log out
- Check whether your keybindings felt comfortable.
- Keep a note of any quest or ability you want to revisit.
- Check official announcements before planning the next session.
When the beta is missing from your launcher
Check the account you are signed into before reinstalling anything. A launcher can be working correctly while showing a different account from the one that received access. Compare the account on the launcher with your own Battle.net game-account list. Do not share the account page publicly.
Blizzard notes that newly eligible accounts may take up to 30 minutes to receive launcher access and that restarting the launcher may help. If the wait has passed, record the client version, the account eligibility you checked, and the exact missing option before contacting official support. That gives support a concrete problem to investigate.
A quick access decision
- No confirmed eligibility: check the official invitation and bundle requirements. A third-party guide cannot grant access.
- Eligibility confirmed, option absent: allow the announced processing time, check the signed-in account, then restart the launcher.
- Option present, install fails: copy the error wording and consult Blizzard's current technical support guidance. Keep an installation problem separate from an eligibility problem.
Once installation begins, leave room for downloads and updates before arranging a group session. We do not quote a storage requirement or promise a download time because neither has been verified here.
