Choose the activity first, then choose the Druid tree. A build that solves your solo recovery problem may leave out the control, group support or defensive options you want in another session.
Which Druid build should you start with?
Our recommended starting points at the current beta cap are:
- Leveling — Feral questing with travel and group utility: Cat-focused damage with Bear utility.
- Dungeon — Restoration healer with two emergency options: Healer.
- PvP — Feral skirmishing with control and recovery: Melee pressure with off-healing.
These are editorial recommendations based on the current public talent records, not independently playtested rankings. Every allocation spends 21 points at level 30. A legal calculator tree does not confirm your trained spell ranks, equipment or live server behavior.

Why we recommend this starting plan
- Feral Swiftness combines Cat movement with dodge, making this useful between objectives as well as during a pull.
- Ferocity and Savage Fury support several basic form attacks rather than depending on positional Shred usage.
- Leader of the Pack adds group critical-strike utility. It replaces the self-focused Natural Instinct endpoint, and its aura is exclusive with Moonkin Aura.
The allocated talents
Point order from level 10 to 30
This order reaches the allocation above while satisfying the current tier and prerequisite rules. Each level adds one point; it is a planning path rather than a timed leveling route.
- Levels 10–14: Ferocity — add 5, reach rank 5.
- Levels 15–16: Feral Swiftness — add 2, reach rank 2.
- Levels 17–19: Feral Instinct — add 3, reach rank 3.
- Levels 20–21: Savage Fury — add 2, reach rank 2.
- Levels 22–23: Sharpened Claws — add 2, reach rank 2.
- Level 24: Feral Charge — add 1, reach rank 1.
- Levels 25–27: Predatory Strikes — add 3, reach rank 3.
- Levels 28–29: Blood Frenzy — add 2, reach rank 2.
- Level 30: Leader of the Pack — add 1, reach rank 1.
How to play around the choices
- Use Cat mobility between targets and judge pulls before spending resources.
- Change role deliberately when using Bear utility; Feral Charge's tooltip requires Bear or Dire Bear Form.
- Step out to recover or heal when appropriate; this tree is not a dedicated dungeon-healer allocation.
No Shifting Power package and no Nature's Swiftness. A dungeon tank should adapt toward survival and threat rather than assuming a questing Cat tree is a complete tank setup.
When to choose another planFor a self-focused alternative, replace the final Leader of the Pack point with one rank of Natural Instinct; the same 20 earlier points make that legal.
Dungeon: Restoration healer with two emergency options
Balance 0 / Feral Combat 0 / Restoration 21 · 21 points at level 30

Why we recommend this starting plan
- Naturalist speeds Healing Touch, Reflection supports regeneration while casting, and Gift of Nature improves the healing package.
- Swiftmend creates a time-sensitive heal for a target already carrying Rejuvenation or Regrowth. Its condition matters when deciding which player can receive it.
- Nature's Swiftness is the final point for an eligible instant Nature cast. This route trades deeper HoT specialization and form-oriented utility for immediate healing decisions.

Point order from level 10 to 30
This order reaches the allocation above while satisfying the current tier and prerequisite rules. Each level adds one point; it is a planning path rather than a timed leveling route.
- Levels 10–14: Nature's Focus — add 5, reach rank 5.
- Levels 15–19: Naturalist — add 5, reach rank 5.
- Levels 20–22: Reflection — add 3, reach rank 3.
- Levels 23–24: Gift of Nature — add 2, reach rank 2.
- Level 25: Swiftmend — add 1, reach rank 1.
- Levels 26–28: Gift of Nature — add 3, reach rank 5.
- Level 29: Improved Rejuvenation — add 1, reach rank 1.
- Level 30: Nature's Swiftness — add 1, reach rank 1.
How to play around the choices
- Track who already has an appropriate heal-over-time effect before needing Swiftmend.
- Choose healing targets from health and incoming damage rather than refreshing every effect automatically.
- Keep mana for the next pull and reserve the emergency instant for an eligible useful cast.
This is the healer assignment. Feral damage or Bear tanking needs a different allocation and appropriate equipment; the class's ability to shapeshift does not fill that gap.
When to choose another planIf a familiar group needs less emergency coverage, compare the live HoT and efficiency options one point at a time in the calculator before changing your plan.
PvP: Feral skirmishing with control and recovery

Why we recommend this starting plan
- Brutal Impact improves Bash control, while Feral Swiftness supports repositioning. Do not assume an untrained higher-level ability is available merely because it appears in the talent's description.
- Feral Charge offers a deliberate control tool in its required Bear forms; one point in Thick Hide is a modest defensive investment rather than a tank guarantee.
- Natural Instinct's first rank adds melee critical-damage value and Intellect-based healing. It replaces Leader of the Pack's group aura in this skirmishing allocation.

How to play around the choices
- Plan when to pressure in Cat and when to change form for control or survival.
- Use Bash or Feral Charge for a useful enemy action instead of stacking control automatically.
- Create space before leaving form to heal; the build lacks Restoration's Nature's Swiftness.
This is a melee-oriented PvP starting point. A dedicated support healer should begin from the Restoration healer plan and adapt after testing, rather than copy this tree.
When to choose another planFor group critical-strike support, replace the final Natural Instinct point with Leader of the Pack. This changes the endpoint while retaining the same legal earlier tiers.
Druid checks before you commit
- Public talent data describes the October 10 hotfix cache; October 8 official notes were checked on October 13. Trained spell availability and future hotfixes must be checked in game. PvP recommendations describe player-versus-player priorities without claiming any particular bracket is open. Legacy talents are outside these 21 class points.
- October 8 renamed Predatory Instincts to Natural Instinct and added the Intellect-based healing component; the allocation uses that current name.
For a dungeon, confirm the role with your group before changing talents. A healing or tanking recommendation here is for that stated role; a damage seat may need a different allocation and equipment. Read the alternative in the dungeon section rather than assuming one tree covers every assignment.
The PvP plan describes control, survival or support priorities at this point budget. It does not establish that every battleground, bracket or ability is available in the current beta. Check your character's trained abilities and the activity's current access before arranging a session.
Adjust one decision, then compare the whole session
Open the calculator link and save the initial allocation. Test against comparable opponents or pulls with the same gear, then change one decision. For leveling, include recovery and travel interruptions; for dungeons, include the group's pace and mistakes; for PvP, separate surviving an opener from contributing after it. Those observations help you decide whether this recommendation fits the activity you actually play.
Do not spend imaginary points on a higher-tier talent: the level-30 budget is 21. If a prerequisite changes after a patch, read the calculator's validation message before reusing an old link. The point-order panel on every build has been checked against the same rules as the calculator.
